Got this wireless card to get the newer "N" wireless standard for my 4 year old Sony laptop. It had the B and G wireless standard built into it.I love to read the review here at Amazon and want to let people know that with this card a side benefit of it was the range of my G wireless improved over the G on the Sony laptop.
Easiest installation I've ever done. My desktop has the $80+ D-Link Xtreme N PCI adapter and if it ever decides to connect to the Airport Extreme (on any band), it runs below 54Mbps.Thank you Linksys. Very durable in the slot.I'm around 100 feet (and a floor under) from an Airport Extreme that's transmitting N+G (N and G at the same time, because the Macbooks in this house don't have N) and I haven't dropped under 130Mbps yet. Just followed the directions. Not a single problem.
Couldn't go wrong. It instantly works. Won't fall off like a USB adapter. Couldn't be happier. Ordered this refurbished, for a whopping $16.90.
Insert CD first, run through two windows until it tells you to plug it in, so you plug it in. Using Windows 7 Ultimate.
I had to learn the hard way and spent quite some time trying to get a smooth install. After the installation, the network card has been working quite well. Then once windows prompts you for driver location, select the CD-ROM drive where the CD is located. Farrah and make sure to insert the card first before adding drivers. Do not- I repeat, do not use the Linksys software when installing this network card. I should have read the reviews about installing the Linksys software. Follow the advice of reviewers cpyao and C. Use windows to configure the wireless.
Never been turn-off to the day. No problems at all. thank you to all the Amazon team who makes it all possible.they are the best. I received this product new and in very good condition. PLug it in the wall, set it up and it's been on from the very first day I got it. I finally concluded to rate Amazon.com five square for the promptness, speed, no hassle and the quality of this product.
The WEC600N is a better and more expensive Wireless-N Card. The WPC600N is OK and causes range problems, even more problematic than some of the Wireless-G cards I currently have on other Notebooks. But for the price, it's worth the try.
